“Ilie Murgulescu” Institute of Physical Chemistry (ICF)

The “Ilie Murgulescu” Institute of Physical Chemistry (ICF) has a long
tradition in fundamental and applied research in the field of physical
chemistry, inorganic and coordination chemistry, and materials science.
The organizational research structure of the ICF consists of 8
laboratories: 1. Quantum Chemistry and Molecular Structure; 2. Chemical
Thermodynamics; 3. Chemical Kinetics; 4. Surface Chemistry and Catalysis;
5. Electrochemistry and Corrosion; 6. Oxide Compounds and Materials
Science; 7. Colloid Chemistry; 8. Coordination and Supramolecular
Chemistry. In the ICF an important interest of the researchers are
development, dissemination and valorization of knowledge and results
obtained through fundamental and applied research in various areas of
national and international interest. The ICF has a diversified research
infrastructure. The ICF organizes PhD programs in various fields of
chemistry and physical chemistry.
