At the 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘝𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘤𝘢𝘮𝘱 2024, during the workshop about financing innovative technologies and business models, entitled “𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐮𝐩” 🚀 Roxana Lupașcu– representative of EEN2EIC Consortium Innovation Leader in Romania, presented to the teams made up of researchers, founders and students, information about:
➡️financing high-impact innovative technologies;
➡️creating an innovative, game-changing business model that could create new markets or disrupt existing ones in Europe and even around the world;
➡️how do you prepare for a substantial financing, but the risks involved are too high for private investors alone to invest.
She also presented to the audience:
- what does deeptech mean,
- what are Technological Readiness Levels (TRL) and what do they measure, explained that the term ‘Valley of Death’ represents the often neglected addressing of TRLs 4 through to 7, where neither academia nor the private sector prioritizes investment, consequently, many technologies, albeit promising, finish their maturity journey prior to deployment,
- why funding readiness level represents the state of development and suitability of an organization to secure funding, this can include investments from the following: Venture capitalists. Angel investors. Loans from financial institutions,
- Business Readiness Level as a concept that refers to the maturity of the business considerations developed alongside the technical development of an innovation, and also as a valuable assessment tool for innovators seeking to establish a technology that is both financially viable and commercially feasible,
- the maturity of the project can impact how much grant funding money you’re eligible for, so it’s important to determine the project’s TRL to match the right fund to the project,
- what for, who can apply, what you get and what is being sought for EIC Accelerator financing, but also many other relevant information.
The participants expressed their curiosity through questions and interventions, being excited to learn more about the ways to finance innovative projects.💡
Great atmosphere, quality information and maybe we will launch the future European deeptech startups. 💫
“As a deep tech venture we have a different take on value. Value is more than money. If you need a figure please give one. Just remember growth and profit has limits and does not always have value”
