Internationalization of SMEs with the Support of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN)

On March 26, 2025, at the UNSTPB Library, the event “Future Technologies: Smart Scanning, Automation, and AI in Business, Funding Opportunities, and Internationalization for SMEs” took place, organized by MSP together with Tryamm SRL.

In the first part of the event, discussions focused on innovative solutions supporting the digitalization process, while the second part covered funding and internationalization for SMEs.

MSP, through the PROSME project, highlighted the importance of SME internationalization and how the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) supports companies in this process.

Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) is an EU initiative that assists businesses in innovation and internationalization, facilitating their access to global markets through a network of specialized centers. In Romania, EEN is present in all development regions, and since 2022, activities dedicated to SMEs in the Bucharest-Ilfov and South Muntenia regions have been implemented through the “Promoting SMEs through Enterprise Europe Network” (PROSME) project. PROSME is co-financed by the Single Market Programme, and MSP has been a partner since 2022.

The main goal of PROSME is to support businesses in transitioning towards more economically, socially, and environmentally sustainable practices while encouraging digital innovation and resilience. The services offered include:

  • Consulting on funding access, sustainability, research & innovation, scaling, and digitalization: Assistance in accessing European funding programs, including for research and development.
  • Business partner identification: Support in finding European and international partners for new business ventures or projects.
  • Training and information activities: Helping SMEs voice their opinions in European policymaking processes.
  • Collaboration between partners: Emphasizing cooperation within local and regional ecosystems.

Through PROSME, MSP provides support in several key areas:

  • Internationalization: Helping companies enter international markets by providing information on business conditions and local regulations.
  • Single Market support: Assistance on European legislation, CE markings, and intellectual property rights.
  • Innovation & Technology Transfer: Supporting SMEs in evaluating technological capabilities and identifying new technologies and innovative solutions.
  • Access to funding: Providing information on available funding sources and assistance in preparing grant applications.
  • Digitalization: Supporting SMEs in adopting digital technologies and adapting business models for greater resilience.
  • Sustainability & Resilience: Assisting SMEs in developing sustainable business models and managing challenges related to climate change.

MSP, through the PROSME project, plays a crucial role in supporting SMEs in the Bucharest-Ilfov and South Muntenia regions, enhancing their competitiveness and sustainability by facilitating access to resources and opportunities in the European Single Market and beyond.
