MSP Shapes the Future Through Education – Students Prepare for the 3D Contest Finals

MSP is actively involved in shaping the future of education by building bridges between young minds, science, and technology.
The 3D modeling and printing contest represents an important stage in this initiative, offering students the chance to experiment and discover new passions.
In this way, together we are shaping a generation that, through courage and perseverance, can innovate what today may seem unattainable.

A Contest with Tradition

The year 2025 marks the fifth edition of this contest – a competition that challenges participants to grow intellectually while also testing their social skills such as patience, teamwork, and problem-solving.
MSP stands by the young 3D explorers once again this year, aiming for students to develop not only a project that represents an object usable as a teaching material, but also their team spirit — that sense of unity that encourages putting the team before the individual.

About the Participating Teams

The teams participating this year come both from schools that have previously taken part and from last year’s winning schools — a sign that students motivate one another, share ideas, and strive to become better.
It is remarkable to hear children often say, “I saw what my classmates did, and I wanted to create a 3D object too,” or that their inspiration came from one of our classroom visits, during which we brought a 3D “sample” to show the students.
These are the classroom demonstrations we hold at teachers’ invitations, where, in the span of an hour, we condense information about 3D technologies while simultaneously printing a small object in front of the students — a souvenir for their class.

About the Hands-On Sessions

During these sessions, children deepened their knowledge of Tinkercad and experienced the 3D printing process firsthand.
Many of them arrived with their own designs already modeled, and Laurențiu, from the MSP team, guided them through printing the key components of their projects and preparing the printer for the 3D printing process.
It was a challenging yet exciting journey for the participants.
The students told us how they had learned about the contest from classmates who participated last year and how they were motivated to create an even more complex project this time.

Testimonials

The most honest conclusions do not come from us, but from the children themselves. Their opinions are the measure of success for such a competition, and together with their coordinating teachers, they provide the best insights and suggestions.
Below you can find their reflections on the online and in-person sessions they attended through MSP.

“The students are very excited to take part in this contest and happy to put their ideas into practice.
It’s an educational experience in which they discovered how a 3D printer works. Everything went very well, and I hope we’ll have the opportunity to take part in many more activities organized by MSP.”

“The experience is pleasant and very welcome for my students.
At first, it’s a bit more difficult for them, but they get used to the challenges of the contest.
I would like to see projects that involve more students and teachers, and I hope this is just the beginning of our collaboration.”

“I liked that we were able to create our own keychains with our names and that this contest helps us improve our modeling skills in Tinkercad.”

“What I liked about today’s session was that I learned to work more easily in modeling programs and found out how a 3D printer works.
This contest helps us develop team spirit through the amazing challenges it offers and because it allows us to deepen our knowledge about 3D technology through the programs we use for 3D modeling.”
