National Research and Development Institute for Chemistry and Petrochemistry (ICECHIM)
Established in 1950, through the division of Chemical Enterprises for research, design and semi-industrial production, the Chemical Research Institute was the main pillar of the Central Chemical Research Institute and the Central Chemistry Institute, and in 2004 it was organized as a national institute under the name of the National Institute of Research – Development for Chemistry and Petrochemistry – ICECHIM, with applied research in the field of chemistry and petrochemicals as its main activity.
Currently, the institute’s activities are oriented towards three major interdisciplinary directions of research-development-innovation, which respond both to the needs of the national economic environment in order to become competitive in the European context, and to current scientific challenges.
