The importance of intelligent specialization and innovation for regional development was the theme of the Seminary regarding intelligent investment financed through the Regional Operational Program in the Bucharest – Ilfov region, with the support of the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union, an event that took place on the 10th of October 2018 in Brussels.
At the event took part representatives of the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union, the Ministry of European Funds of Romania, of ROST – Romanian Office for Science & Technology to the European Union and Schuman Associates.
Magurele Science Park, initiative of Ilfov County Council, was presented during the event as a solution for economic capitalization on the results of the research from the Magurele platform, which will contribute to the national system of innovative entrepreneurship, as well as to the attraction and maintaining talents in the struggle of stopping the brain exodus from Romania.
Magurele Science Park will be a vector of regional development, with impact at national level in the field of economic competitivity.
Daniela Mocanu, executive director of Magurele Science Park: “We presented the stage of the science park at present time, we showed our objectives and what partners joined us in this project. We explained the opportunity of building Magurele Science Park on the Magurele platform, in the context of the high-level research taking place here.”
The guests of Romania’s Ambassador to Brussels took interest in Magurele Science Park
At the event organized with the support of Romania’s Embassy in Belgium, having as objective promoting the Regional Operational Program, of the Bucharest – Ilfov region and of Romania, together with representatives of the diplomatic missions, took part business people and representatives of European institutions.
The European Week of Regions and Cities was organized together by the European Regions Committee and the Regional and Urban Policy Directorate General of the European Commission and took place during 8th-12th of October 2018 in Brussels. The event, reuniting annually over 5500 representatives of regions and cities in Europe and other continents, as well as high representatives of European institutions, academia and experts, having the opportunity to exchange best practices and knowledge in the field of urban and regional development.
