”Start-ups and technology transfer in innovation eco-systems in South-East Europe and the Alpine Region” conference, organized by Joint Research Center (European Commission) and Ljubljana Science Park, took place on the 15th and 16th of November in Ljubljana (Slovenia). At the event took part experts involved in innovation sustaining processes, technology transfer, researchers, organizations involved in creating, managing and promoting innovation ecosystems, regional and national agencies administrating investment funds for innovation, science, science parks and business incubators, experts in technology transfer, start-ups and SMEs, financial intermediaries, representatives of EIB, EBRD, OECD, investment funds, risk capital funds for companies from Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania, Kosovo, Germany, Spain, Romania.
The discussions focused on key elements in developing successful innovation ecosystems: creating a project portfolio, attracting businesses, providing support services for business development, involving the fundamental governmental institutions.
Joint Research Center invited the representative of Magurele Science Park Association to present Magurele Science Park during the ”Start-ups ecosystems as a value adding tool for regional and national economies” session.
Daniela Mocanu, executive director of Magurele Science Park Association, spoke of Magurele Science Park as a vector of regional development, with impact at national level with regard to economic competitivity, of the Bucharest-Ilfov Region, Ilfov County, Magurele, Magurele research platform and their economic potential, but also about the development of the most powerful laser in the world – ELI-NP.
The session was moderated by a JRC representative, and hosted speeches from representatives of OECD, EBRD, European Commission.
