Support for technological education: 3D at “Cezar Nicolau” High School

Back at “Cezar Nicolau” high school in Brănești – with renewed enthusiasm and fresh ideas

On January 20, 2026, Florentina and Laurențiu from the MSP team returned to “Cezar Nicolau” High School in Brănești, an educational institution with which MSP has built a long-standing and consistent partnership.
Each visit reaffirms the school’s genuine desire for innovation and its openness to integrating emerging technologies into education.

A partnership with special significance for MSP

For the MSP team, “Cezar Nicolau” High School holds particular value. This is where some of the first editions of our 3D modeling and printing competition were tested, at an early stage of the project, before it evolved and expanded to an interinstitutional level.
Over time, we have met dedicated teachers open to modern teaching methods, as well as curious students eager to explore new technologies and learn through hands-on experience.

About the 2023 edition of the 3D competition and the students’ creations

The 2023 edition of the 3D modeling and printing competition organized by MSP was a success, showing us that we are on the right path and that the competition deserves to grow to the scale expected by students.
Given the strong interest shown by both teachers and high school students, we decided to adopt an interinstitutional competition format, offering schools the opportunity to win a 3D printer. The prizes for first, second, and third place were provided by our sponsor FormWerk, a long-standing supporter since the very first edition of the competition, which took place in the SmartLab laboratory in Măgurele.

Below are the creations of the students who participated in the 2023 edition—an edition that challenged the creativity and technical skills of the 10th-grade students from “Cezar Nicolau” High School. The level of detail in the educational objects they modeled convinced us that 3D modeling and printing is an area of genuine interest for students, one that deserves to be further developed and refined.

Donation of 3D equipment for educational activities

As part of this visit, the students and teachers of the high school received a course of the 3D equipment, aimed at supporting the integration of digital fabrication technologies into the educational process.

The materials include:

  • 3D printer: XYZprinting da Vinci Super
  • Spare parts
  • Additional printing nozzles
  • Simplify3D V4 software license (without warranty), with the account transferred to the specified email address
  • PLA filament 1.75 mm – Polymaker PolyLite Grey, approximately 900 g
  • Spatula / tool for removing printed objects from the build plate.
Practical demonstration and experiential learning

The activity also included a practical demonstration of how to use the 3D printer, giving both students and teachers the opportunity to observe the entire process—from preparing the digital file to printing the final object.
The goal of this session was to inspire, reduce technological barriers, and encourage the use of the equipment in educational projects, interdisciplinary activities, and creative initiatives.

Real impact and future perspectives

The energy, interest, and curiosity shown by the students once again confirmed the real impact of MSP initiatives within the educational environment.
We look forward to seeing how the 3D equipment will be used in future creative projects, practical lessons, and activities that develop essential digital skills for the future.

MSP remains committed to support schools that believe in modern education and in the power of technology to inspire.
