Impressions from the participants of the 3D modeling and printing competition – 2025 Edition

We encourage school students to explore new technologies

Below, we have selected a few impressions from participants in the 3D modeling and printing competition, 2026 edition, organized by MSP, both from school students and from the coordinating teaching staff.

It is important to motivate future generations to try new things, to persevere when they have a passion, and to take advantage of the opportunities that arise in life and highlight their potential—such as the 3D competition organized annually by MSP.

We hope that, year after year, more educational institutions will join us, so that as many students as possible can benefit from the courses offered and from the experience of working and creating as a team on a project that helps them better understand a concept from the subjects taught in class.

Testimonials – students and teachers
Vlad M. – student, member of the team representing “Ioan Bădescu” Secondary School

“We found out from our teacher that we would be part of the competition. We were happy, but we didn’t start working right away. We waited quite a long time, until the last two weeks, when we realized that we didn’t have a project. That’s when we started working very hard. We decided fairly quickly what the project idea would be and started working in Tinkercad. We met every day in the morning, before school, to work, and in the evening we did our homework. And so on, day after day. The in-person and online sessions with Mr. Laurențiu helped us a lot. When choosing the project, I was motivated by the fact that we all learn about the Solar System from a young age, and I thought it was a very good opportunity to show others what it is and how it works. With the 3D printer won by our school, I would print a banner to put on our classroom door that would say: «This is where the 3D printer is». For the theme of the next edition of the competition, there could be some criteria requiring the project to include a certain mechanism, or the future projects could fit into a larger cube than the one currently used, so that the projects can be as large as possible. It was very nice, I liked everything.”

Eros Pătroi Alexandru – Physics teacher, “Nicolae Labiș” School

“I believe this competition helped them, first of all, to form a team and learn how to work as a team, and then to discover that school subjects can be combined—that they are not separate, unrelated things, but are connected to each other. I think it will also help them in the future to think a bit differently about everything they learn at school.

As for how this experience has been so far, I can say that they were very excited about this project proposal. They were enthusiastic about participating. In fact, it was a bit difficult to narrow it down to a team of only three students, because there are many very good children in their class and they all wanted to participate. Together with the other teachers, we had to choose only three. It is a wonderful experience, and I see them passionate about creating something, about seeing a result come out of their own hands, and I believe this is a major strength of your competition.

The collaboration with MSP was very good, especially since you had very clear presentations, which helped them start shaping their first ideas and focus on a theme. Mr. Laurențiu explained everything very well, in a way they could understand, and I believe it was a gain both for them and for me as a teacher.

I see the collaboration with MSP continuing with more and more projects in schools. There is a real need for what we call STEM or even STEAM to become a reality in schools, and I believe that Măgurele Science Park will help children develop in this direction.”

Sophia P. – student, “Nicolae Labiș” School

“As for how I found the competition so far, I thought it was very interesting and it taught me a lot. It taught me how to control technology, about 3D printers, materials, and certain objects that we can 3D print. I learned how to work with 3D printers, how to include technology in real life, how to cooperate with my classmates, and how to put my imagination to work. My motivation was the fact that I could have a very nice experience and learn how technology works, and the support I received from my teacher and from the MSP team was something very special.

For future participants in the coming years, I would tell them that they will really enjoy it, have a lot of fun, experience many beautiful moments, and learn many new things. As advice: try until you succeed, and even if it doesn’t work the first time or something goes wrong, you can keep trying, because you have the opportunity to grow and develop. It was a new perspective on technology for me.”

We thank everyone for their valuable and detailed feedback and look forward to welcoming them again in other educational initiatives developed by MSP.
