We celebrated Children’s Day with 3D technology: over 170 students created and printed together with MSP

The MSP educational pillar offers students access to 3D technology whenever we have the opportunity. And what better occasion to share knowledge about 3D technology than on their special day—Children’s Day, June 1st?

How did we spend June 1st together with the students?

We met the school students in Dumitrana Park in Măgurele, where we were welcomed with good spirits, warm smiles, and—most importantly—genuine curiosity.
We gathered together with them and shared a few little secrets from the world of 3D modeling in Tinkercad and 3D printing, using our printers.
Laurențiu Dinu, from the MSP team, guided the students on this digital journey, and at the end of it, the students got to see how the objects they modeled could be 3D printed.

School visits

What is important to remember is that Children’s Day should not only be celebrated on just one specific day, but every day.
Given some PISA statistics that highlight an increasing need for STEM skills among students, it is important to think about their future every day and to make education more friendly to them, for them, whenever we can.

That’s why we don’t limit ourselves to events like celebrations on June 1st; instead, we frequently visit their classrooms to talk about technology, bring technology to them and together bring to life small 3D objects. Some of these we offer as totems for their classroom or to the teachers who invited us; other times, they remain as decorations and souvenirs in their class. A memory that inspires introspection and reflection on the idea that any path is the right path if you have a passion.

We have often met children passionate about technology but limited by various circumstances, yet with eyes still shining and souls eager to learn and do more.

During our educational journey, in March we also visited two other schools where we continued sharing our story and knowledge: Helikon School and Gymnasium School no. 124 in Bucharest.

We look ahead with enthusiasm and confidence in the new generations.

As B. F. Skinner said,
“Education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten.”

Children’s energy is always contagious and constantly motivates us to move forward, do more, and expect more from ourselves.
We will continue this series of workshops, so stay with us to keep up to date with our upcoming events.
