Building a meaningful partnership takes more than a single meeting. It starts with dialogue, grows through mutual understanding, and is strengthened by identifying shared objectives and opportunities. This is the collaborative approach promoted by the Măgurele Science Park Association (MSP) within the innovation ecosystem, fostering long-term connections between businesses and research organizations.
Following the first meeting between GEOSTUD and the National Institute of Research and Development for Machines and Installations Designed for Agriculture and Food Industry (INMA Bucharest), facilitated by MSP and focused on exploring collaboration opportunities, the dialogue between the two organizations naturally continued.
On 15 July, at the initiative and with the support of MSP, GEOSTUD‘s team paid a working visit to INMA Bucharest. The visit provided an opportunity to further develop the discussions initiated in June and to gain a deeper understanding of the institute’s expertise, research infrastructure and strategic research directions.
A guided tour of INMA’s laboratories and presentations of ongoing projects highlighted the institute’s capabilities in areas such as smart agriculture, digitalisation, agricultural mechanisation and sustainable technologies. At the same time, the discussions confirmed the complementary strengths of GEOSTUD and INMA, opening new perspectives for the development of joint initiatives.
A key outcome of the meeting was the reaffirmation of both organisations’ commitment to continue their dialogue and identify concrete areas of collaboration that leverage each partner’s expertise and strategic interests. Participants explored cooperation opportunities under both national funding programmes and European initiatives, with the next step being the definition of common areas of interest and the assessment of potential competitive project consortia.
For MSP, this progress reflects the very role it seeks to play within the innovation ecosystem: not only bringing organisations together for an initial introduction, but also supporting the development of relationships built on trust, continuous dialogue and shared ambitions. The visit to INMA demonstrates that the true value of a connection lies not in a single meeting, but in the willingness of partners to continue working together and transform conversations into long-term collaboration.
MSP will continue to support this process by facilitating working meetings, connecting complementary expertise and helping identify funding and innovation opportunities. The evolving relationship between GEOSTUD and INMA illustrates how dialogue between industry and research can gradually develop into strategic partnerships that strengthen Romania’s research, development and innovation ecosystem.
