Follow-up B2C – Innovation and growth through AI integration

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a catalyst for innovation and a key factor in competitiveness across nearly all economic sectors. Integrating AI can lead to the automation and optimization of repetitive processes and resources, enhance decision‑making capabilities, personalize customer interactions and foster the development of innovative products and services. At the same time, AI adoption presents significant challenges: lack of know‑how, ethical barriers, risks related to data and privacy, and difficulties in scaling. For this reason, a strategic and responsible approach is required—one based on dialogue and collaboration among all involved stakeholders.

The B2C (#Business2Community) event „Innovation and Growth through AI Integration”, organized by Măgurele Science Park (MSP) on September 15, 2025, at BT Stup Bucharest, addressed one of today’s most relevant and influential topics, with direct impacts on businesses, organizations and society as a whole. AI is no longer merely a promise of the future, it`s a present reality transforming the way we work, innovate and make decisions.

The event brought together entrepreneurs, innovators and technology experts to explore applied AI solutions from the MSP community, through real case studies, live demonstrations and direct dialogue. It was a practical and inspiring experience that promoted the responsible adoption of emerging technologies, with direct effects on economic growth and social development, and transformed ideas into opportunities and future collaborations.

The event was opened by Mădălin Ioniță, Executive Director of the Măgurele Science Park Association, who emphasized that:

🔖 “For many, Artificial Intelligence seems like a hard challenge to manage. For the MSP community, it is already an opportunity — to innovate, to grow, and to connect research with real business. The AI challenge does not scare us; it inspires us to build together solutions that make a difference.”

During the „AI Solutions with Real Impact” section, moderated by Alexandra Ivan, Information for Business Expert at MSP, innovative applications developed by entrepreneurs from the MSP community were presented, along with concrete examples showing how AI can radically transform business practices.

🛠️ Among the successful solutions showcased were:

➡️ „Aidoo: AI Solutions Born from Real Needs” ‒ Florian Bucă, CEO Soft Tehnica

➡️ „Applied Artificial Intelligence: SIMAVI Projects and Innovation through the AI Avatar” ‒ Cătălin Duțu, Area Sales Manager SIMAVI

➡️ „Reinvented Border Security: MAGUS HBD‑X, the Non‑Invasive AI System” Stelian Ilie, CEO MIRA Technologies Group

➡️ „AI for Retail” ‒ Adrian Drăgan, CSO Securif.AI

“AI — Innovation Accelerator in SMEs”

One of the event’s highlights was the panel discussion „AI — Innovation Accelerator in SMEs”, moderated by Roxana Lupașcu, Innovation & Business Development Expert at MSP.

The question is no longer whether we use AI, but how fast and how smartly we can integrate it into our businesses. We discussed this journey, how AI can bring concrete value for Romanian SMEs, together with our guests — leaders from technology, research, and entrepreneurship — who live this transformation daily and have the experience to show how AI becomes a growth partner for every company.

Panel Guests:

🔹 Prof. Dr. Eng. Adina Florea ‒ UNSTPB, Project Director „Romanian AI Hub – HRIA”

🔹 Elena‑Anca Paraschiv ‒ Scientific Researcher, National Institute for Research‑Development in Informatics (ICI), Bucharest

🔹 Andrei Ilie, CEO, ASYNNC Ventures

🔹 Stelian Ilie, CEO, MIRA Technologies Group

🔹 Florian Bucă, CEO, Soft Tehnica

🔹 Andrei Brad, CEO, VerbalEaze

🎯 Here are some key ideas & recommendations for SMEs:

Start small: begin with a clear, limited process; test it using existing AI models/APIs; set measurable goals; iterate quickly based on results to gradually expand implementation.

Mapping & redesign: document and analyze the process to identify weak points; then smartly redesign it before automating, ensuring clarity and consistent outcomes.

Data is fundamental: invest in collecting, organizing and segmenting internal data to ensure clean information, good governance and reliable AI results.

Resilience & flexibility: ensure AI implementations are resilient and flexible through multi‑model strategies, integration of retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) techniques and a smart combination of open‑source and cloud‑based solutions.

Internal development: build internal capacity by appointing a responsible person for coordinating AI adoption; train teams via courses and certifications and foster an organizational culture focused on innovation and involving all relevant departments.

Collaboration: cooperate with universities, research centres and EDIHs, leveraging available infrastructure and pilot projects to accelerate AI adoption and reduce associated risks.

Cost & ROI: plan project scope carefully and monitor costs and ROI constantly, bearing in mind that consultancy and implementation investments can significantly exceed software expenses, directly affecting the success of AI adoption.

Risk management & compliance: anticipate challenges through data quality control and bias handling, comply with legislation and protect intellectual property, manage project budgets carefully and avoid uncontrolled expansion of AI initiatives.

Measure results: evaluate the performance of each AI implementation, test different models and algorithms and iterate constantly to optimize efficiency and uncover new opportunities.

Debunked myths: AI will not replace people in the short term; large language models are not universal solutions; AI is not only for big companies — responsible and adapted AI adoption can bring real value to organizations of all sizes.

💡 Practical examples of AI usage:

  • Marketing, sales, and resource management automation — auto‑sent emails, intelligent customer segmentation, personalized recommendations.
  • Digitization of technical plans (PDF or 2D CAD) for estimating production costs — automatic data extraction from CAD / PDF files.
  • Decision support in medicine — AI assisting diagnosis based on medical images or patient history.
  • Financial fraud detection — algorithms identifying suspicious patterns in transactions.
  • Intelligent chatbots for customer support — automated responses based on continuous learning.
  • Supply chain optimization — real‑time predictions and dynamic adjustments of inventories.

📌 Conclusions of the discussions:

🔸 AI is an accelerator of innovation and competitiveness. SMEs need to act quickly, start with small steps, develop internal capabilities and collaborate with the AI ecosystem for responsible and efficient adoption.

🔸 In the next five years, SMEs that do not adopt AI risk falling behind, while their competitors will innovate faster and win new markets. Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a technological tool — it’s the key to competitiveness and the accelerator that can transform a business’s processes, products and services.

🔸 If you don’t begin using AI today, someone else will win your customers tomorrow using it. But the good news is that AI is not just for large corporations — it can be your partner in growth and innovation.

Thank you to all participants for your presence and valuable contributions to the discussions. The „Innovation and Growth through AI Integration” event created a dynamic environment where ideas were transformed into concrete directions, experiences were enriched by real exchanges, and innovative solutions emerged as opportunities for development. It demonstrated that Artificial Intelligence no longer belongs to the future, but is already a core component redefining how we work, innovate and make decisions.

We will soon return with new results and innovative projects developed by MSP partners and community members.
